This fee-for-service program will assist individuals in identifying career goals, establishing priorities, discovering career options and identifying the required steps to achieve those goals. All CDS Career Counsellors possess a university masters degree and are certified in their respective fields. Client services include:
The CDS Career Transition Program consists of three components:Component 1: Introduction and Needs Assessment Clients will meet with a Career Counsellor for a free half-hour information session. During this session your individual needs will be assessed and you will be provided with a general overview of the CDS Career Transition Program including a description of the available career assessment tools. A customized individual action plan will also be outlined at this time. Component 2: Career AssessmentsThe Career Assessment Component of the CDS Career Transition Program consists of five inventories designed to provide an understanding of your aptitudes, career interests, work-related personality, key values and their career relevance. The assessments used include:
Component 3: Individualized Report and RecommendationsYou will receive a comprehensive report summarizing key points from the career assessment interpretative sessions, as well as recommendations required to achieve your career goals. The decision as to the length of time and type of services required will be determined by both the Counsellor and client throughout the needs assessment session and can be adjusted at any time.
